Since the start of this millennium, a standard mobile device has gone from being no more than a simple two-way pager to being a mobile phone, GPS navigation device, an embedded web browser and instant messaging client, and a handheld gaming console. Many experts believe that the future of computer wireless networking. Tablets are available on the 3G and 4G networks.

MOBILE PHONE GENERATIONS

In the early 1980s, 1G was introduced as voice-only communication via "brick phones". Later in 1991, the development of 2G introduced short Message Service (SMS) and multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) capabilities, allowing picture messages to be sent and received between phones. In 1998, 3G was introduced to provide faster data-transmission speeds to support video calling and internet access. 4G was released in 2008 to support more demanding services such as gaming services, HD mobile TV, video conferencing, and 3D TV. 5G technology has been planned for the upcoming future.

OPERATING SYSTEMS

Many types of mobile operating systems (OS) are available for smartphones, including Android BlackBerry OS, webOS, iOS, Symbian, windows mobile professional (touch screen), and Bada. The popular are the apple iphone, and the newest: Android. Android, a mobile OS developed by Google, is the first completely open-source mobile OS, meaning that it is free to any cell phone mobile network.

FUTURE OF SMARTPHONES

The next generation of smartphones will be context-aware, taking advantage of the growing availability of embedded physical sensors and data exchange abilities. One of the main features applying to this is that phones will start keeping track of users personal data, and adapt to anticipate the information will need. All-new applications will come out with the new phones, one of which is an X-ray device that reveals information about any location at which the phone is pointed. companies are developing software to take advantage of more accurate location sensing data. This has been described as making the phone a virtual mouse able to click the real world.

medical technology,or "medtech", encompasses a wide range of healthcare products and is used to
treat diseases and medical conditions affecting humans. such technologies are intended to improve the quality of healthcare delivered through earlier diagnosis, less invasive treatment options and reduction in hospital stays and rehabilitation times.

Recent advances in medical technology have also focused on cost reduction.medical technology may broadly include medical devices, information technology, biotech, and healthcare services.

The impacts of medical technology involve social and ethical issues.for example, physicians can seek objective information from technology rather than read subjective patient reports.

TYPES OF TECHNOLOGY

Medical technology has evolved into smaller portable devices, for instance smartphones, touchscreens, tablets, laptops, digital link, voice and face recognition and more. with this technology, innovations like

  • Electronic health records (EHR)
  • Health information exchange (HIE)
  • Nationwide Health Information Network (NwHIN)
  • Personal health records (PHRs)
  • patient portals nanomedicine
  • Genome - based personalized medicine
  • Geographical positioning system (GPS)
  • Radio frequency identification (RFID)
  • Telemedicine, clinical decision support (CDS)
  • Mobile home health care and cloud computing came to exist.
3D printing can be used to produce specialized splints, prostheses, parts for medical devices and inert implants. The end goal of 3D printing is being able to print out customized replaceable body parts.

Electrical technology deals with all machines, tools, devices, and systems in which a current or a flow of electrons takes place through conductors and metals. it involves the design and development of high-voltage systems and components such as motors, generators, heaters, electrical power transmission and distribution systems, radio wave and optical systems, converters, and control systems for operating light and heavy machinery.

                               ROBOTICS

Robotics is an interdisciplinary branch of science and engineering that's includes mechanical engineering, electronic engineering, information engineering, computer science, and others. Robotics  deals with the design, construction, operation, and use of robots, as well as computer systems for their control, sensory feedback, and information processing.

These technologies are used to develop machines that can substitute for humans and replicate human actions. Robots can be used in many situations and for lots of purpose, but today many are used in dangerous environment, manufacturing processes or where humans can not survive (space).

The concept of creating machines that can operate  autonomously dates back to classical times, but research into the functionality and potential uses of robots did not grow substantiality until the 20th century.
Throughout history, it has been frequently assumed by various scholars, inventors, engineers, and technicians  that robots will one day be able to mimic human behaviour and manage tasks in a human like faishon. Today, robotics is a rapidly growing field, as technological advance continue, researching, designing, and build  new robots serve various practical purposes, whether domestically, commercially, or militarily. Robotics is also used in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) as a teaching aid.

             INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

Information technology (IT) is the use of computers to store, retrieve, transmit, and manipulate, data, or information, often in the context of a business or other enterprise. IT is considered to be a subset of information and communications technology. (ICT).

Humans have been storing, retrieving, manipulating and communicating information since the sumerians in Mesopotamia developed writing in about 3000 BC, but the term information technology in its modern sense first appeared in a 1958 article published in the Havard Business Review, authors Harold J. Leavitt and Thomas L. Whisler commented that "the new technology does not yet have a single established name. We shall call it information technology (IT)". Their definition consists of three categories:  techniques for processing, the application of statistical and mathematical methods to decision-making, and the simulation of higher-order thinking through computer programs.

The term is commonly used as a synonym for computers and computer networks, but it also encompasses other information distribution technologies such as television and telephones.  Several products or services within an economy are associated with information technology, including computer hardware, software, electronics, semiconductors, internet, telecom equipment, and e-commerce.

Based on the storage and processing technologies employed, it is possible to distinguish four distinct phases of IT development: pre_mechnical (3000BC_1450AD), mechanical (1450_1840), electromechanical  (1840_1940), and  electronic (1940_present).

            EVOLUTION OF TECHNOLOGY

Technical evolution is a theory of radical transformation of society through technological development.

Development

The pretechnological period, in which all other animal species remain today aside from some avian and primate species was a non - rational  period of the early prehistoric man.

A tool provides a mechanical  advantage in accomplishing a physical task, such as an arrow, plow or hammer that arguments physical labour to
More efficiently achieve his objective.Later animal - powered tools such as the plow and the horse, increased productivity of food production about tenfold over the technology of the hunters gatheres.

The second technological stage was the creation of the machine. A machine is a tool that substitutes the element of human physical effort, and requires only control it's function.machines became widespread with the industrial revolution, though windmills , a type of machine are much older.
Examples of this  include cars, trains computer and lights, machines allow humans to tremendously exceed the limitations of their bodies.

The third, and final stage of technology evolution is the automation. The automation is a machine that removes the element of  human control with an automatic algorithm.
Examples of machines that exhibit this characteristic are digital watches, automatic telephone switches, pacemakers, and computer programs.

It's crucial to understand that the three stages outline the introduction of the fundamental types of technology, and so all three continue to be widely used today.

                   HISTORY OF TECHNOLOGY

The history of technology is the history of the invention of tools and techniques and is one of the categories of the history of humanity. Technology can refer to methods ranging from as simple as stone tools to the complex genetic engineering and information technology that has emerged since the 1980s. The term technology comes from the Greek word techne, meaning art and craft, and the word logos, meaning word and speech. It was first used to describe applied arts, but it is now used to described advancements and changes which affect the environment arround us.

The wheel, invented sometime before the 4th millennium BC, is one of the most ubiquitous and important technologies. This detail of the "Standard of Ur", c. 2500 BC., displays a Sumerian chariot
New knowledge has enabled people to create new things, and conversely, many scientific endeavors are made possible by technologieswhich assist humans in traveling to places they could not previously reach, and by scientific instruments by which we study nature in more detail than our natural senses allow.
